Evelyn Agnes Thompson
Evelyn was born January 31, 1916 on a farm in Mission Creek Township, Pine County to John J. Kryzer and
Agnes Ouradnik Kryzer. She grew up on the family farm east of Beroun and attended and received her formal education
in a country school nearby.
On July 20, 1936, Evelyn married Stanley
Rys at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beroun. They made their home, worked, and raised their family in Beroun.
Stanley passed away on February 8, 1973.
For several years Evelyn was
alone until she met and married Milt Thompson on February 14, 1976. After his passing she sold her home in Beroun and
moved to Inver Grove Heights to be close to her daughters, grandchildren and other relatives.
Evelyn enjoyed cooking and her culinary skills were put to good use at several area restaurants throughout
the years.
Evelyn died last Wednesday, November 26th at GracePointe
Crossings, a rest home in Cambridge. She had resided here for several years. She was 92 years old.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Stanley Rys and Milton Thompson,
her brothers George, Clarence, and Frank Kryzer and a sister Francis Veith.
She
is survived by three daughters: Delores & her husband Robert Gunderson of Isle, Carolyn Rys of Isle, Marian and
her husband Greg Beske of Detroit Lakes, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She
is also survived by sisters-in-law Betty Kryzer of Little Canada and Virginia Kryzer of West St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 29th at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Beroun with Fr. Cornelius Kelleher officiating. Music was provided by Kathy Hagberg. Casketbearers
were Jeff Gunderson, Chad Beckel, Jason Beckel, Lewis Lynch, Courtney Gunderson, and Stephanie Lynch. A spring interment
will be held in St. Joseph's Calvary Cemetery of Beroun.
