Herbert G. Prokott
Herbert Gerald Prokott,
age 57, of rural Pine City, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born March
7, 1951, at St. Paul, Minnesota, he was the second of four children born to Adolph and Irene (Schneider) Prokott. He attended
school and played baseball for Blessed Sacrament School in St. Paul. As a young boy, Herb enjoyed spending many of his summers
helping out on his uncle’s farm. Later, as a teenager, he spent a great deal of his time working at his father’s
gas station. During his adult years he was employed as a plant foreman at Century College in St. Paul, a career that spanned
a period of 35 years.
Herb married the love or his life, Lynn Marie Conley, on August 21, 1971. They made their first
home in St. Paul, but soon realized they wanted to raise their family in a country setting. They found that setting near Pine
City where they raised their five wonderful children.
Herb was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his
wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed old cars and trucks, camping, fishing, hunting, and family trips. He was always
willing to give a helping hand to anyone and never expected anything in return. A man with a big heart, he was a wonderful
husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
Herb is survived by his wife Lynn;
their children: Joanna & Nathan Peacock, Mike & Michelle Prokott, all of Rock Creek, MN, Jacob Prokott, Stacie Prokott,
and Danielle Prokott, all of Pine City; grandchildren: Jordan, Nick, Brittany, Derek, Dalton, and Hunter; his mother: Irene
Prokott of St. Paul; sister: Rosemary Prokott of St., Paul; brothers and sister-in-law: Jerome Prokott and Art & Colleen
Prokott, all of St. Paul; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Adolph Prokott and his
nephew Andy Prokott.
A memorial service will be celebrated; 1 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Our Redeemer Lutheran
Church in Pine City with the Reverend Vicki VanderVegt officiating.
