Jeremy Lee Jylka, age 34, of Pine City passed away on April 29, 2008
at the Kanabec County Hospital in Mora, Minnesota. Jeremy was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota to parents Carol (Mertala)Kort, and Gary Jylka. He was a 1993 graduate
of Staples-Motley High School and served in the U.S.
Navy from 1993 -1995. He was united in marriage on December 22, 2001 to Kelly Horton.
Jeremy & Kelly lived in Staples until 2006 when they moved to Pine City. Jeremy joined the Pine City Fire Department in May 2007. He completed
Firefighter Training, Fire Instructor Training, Building Fire Code Inspector, Auto Extrication, and EMT Basic Training while
on the Fire Department. His proudest moments were his marriage to Kelly, the
birth of his daughter Anika, and becoming a firefighter.
Jeremy is survived by loving wife Kelly and daughter Anika; mother
Carol Kort of Motley, MN; father Gary Jylka of Mahtowa, MN; mother-in-law Crystal (Jim) Boylan of Pine City; sisters Tammy
(Jim) Myrick of Columbus, GA; Gina (Mitchell) Tavares of Pillager, MN; Tashia (Chad) Birkholtz of Motley, MN; sister-in-law
Karla (Jay) Davidson of East Bethel and nine nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Jeremy was preceded
in death by his grandparents and infant sister Tracy.

Funeral Service 11:30 am Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (825
Golf Ave SW, Pine City, MN 55063)
Visitation 4-7 pm Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and one hour
prior to the service on Monday.
Interment in the Hilltop Cemetery of Pine City,MN.
