  Lucille B. Krueger-Yanisch

     Lucille Berniece Yanisch, lovingly known to her family and friends as Lucy, died November 19, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Rush City, Minnesota at the age of 81 years, 3months and 5 days.  She was born August 14, 1927 to Frank and Anna (Behl) Suckow in Moyer Township of Swift County, Minnesota and was the youngest of their 14 children.

     She was baptized by the Reverend C. N. Anderson at St. John's Lutheran Church of Moyer and attended elementary school at Swift County District No. 90.  She went to high school at Holloway, Minnesota.

     Lucy met Harold H. Krueger of Glenwood City, Wisconsin, and they were married September 19, 1947.  Four children were born to this couple:  Randy, Debbie, Gregory, and Rodney.  Gregory died in infancy, Harold passed away in 1972, and Rodney died most recently in 2008.

     Lucy held her Christian heritage as a priority in her adult life and attended church services at Harris and North Branch, Minnesota while living in those communities.  She was also very patriotic and served many years with the Harris American Legion Auxiliary as well as serving in various leadership roles in her church and community.  She loved to crochet, make quilts, listen to music, and visit with her relatives and friends.

     Over time Lucy moved from her Pine Wood apartment in Harris to Shield's Plaza Apartments in North Branch, then to Stacy Assisted Living and Edgewater Assisted Living in Pine City, Minnesota, and finally to the Golden Living Center in Rush City.

     She is survived by her children Randy & Mary Lynne Krueger of Homestead, Florida and Deborah Mell of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren Tammy (Kirk) Gilquist of Rush City, Angela Mell of Rochester, MN., Tracy (Tom) James of Hill City, MN., Torri (Howard) Clifford of Harris, MN., Travis Mell of Hill City, MN., Aaron Krueger, Jennifer (Ronny) Richardson all of Homestead, Florida, great grandchildren Traci Ann, Amanda Gilquist, Ryan, Lauren Richardson, great great grandson Brayson Parkin; sister Ida Frick of Glenwood City, WI; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. 

     Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Anna Suckow, husband Harold, sons Gregory and Rodney and brothers and sisters Margaret Erdman, Frances Bahl, Laura Gades, Harriet Frank, Ruth Dahle, Gertrude Linde, Hilda Brandt, Palmer Suckow, Olga Arnold, Irene Bruem, and Martha Grease.

     Funeral services were celebrated; 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with the Reverend Richard Mork officiating.  Music was provided by Kelly Rogstad.  Honorary casket bearers included the Harris American Legion Post # 139 Auxilary.  Active casket bearers included Kirk Gilquist, Travis Mell, Howie Clifford and Jerry Parkin with the interment at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City, Wisconsin.

     Arrangements were entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service, Olson Chapel, Rush City, Minnesota.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. 
Interment: Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood City, Wisconsin.
