Marilyn J. Broz, 80, of Pine City, MN died Wednesday,
August 27, 2008 of injuries
sustained in a car accident
east of Watertown, SD.
Marilyn (Mary) was born in St Paul on June 28, 1928 to Dr. George Olsen and
Lillian Gjerdahl Olsen. She graduated from Pine City High School in 1946. She married Clarence Broz in
1950 and was married for 49 years. Mary lived all her life in Pine City, MN. Shortly before her death,
Mary celebrated her 80th birthday at the Rock Creek Town Center with many members of her family and friends.
Mary worked for the Clem Insurance Agency, First National Insurance and Pine City School District Bus Company. She
was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine City.
She enjoyed going out to eat and traveling with her friends and family. She loved animals and
enjoyed gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Lillian Olsen, her brother
George Olsen, Jr. and her husband, Clarence Broz. She is survived by her sister Shirley Johnson
and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 5th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 4th @ Swanson Chapel from 5-8 pm with a 7:30 p.m. Prayer
Service. There will also be a 1 hour visitation prior to the service in the gathering area of the Immaculate Conception Church on Friday. Interment will be
in the Church Cemetery.
