Wesley William Winges of Cheyenne, Wyoming went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 17 at the age
of 80. He was born June
24, 1928 to Alex and Elsie (Carlson) Winges in
Braham, MN. Wes attended a country school near Rush
City before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1945, where he served for two years. He
married Joyce Anderson on June 3, 1950 and they celebrated 58 wonderful years together.
Wes retired from Chicago & Northwestern Railroad after 38 years of service. His retirement years
were full; he enjoyed spending his time woodworking, painting, and creating works of art, most of which were made for someone
else in mind. His interests also included walks in the park with his wife, listening to music, and learning
about history. Wes loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his friendship had no boundaries
or expectations, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was an extraordinary
man who had a smile for everyone he met, showing kindness to others out of the goodness of his heart. Wes
lived an exemplary life of faith and served the Lord his entire life.
