August 8, 1956 — January 15, 2010

Mark Darrel Stroshane was born August 8, 1956 in Haywarden, Iowa to Kenneth and Dolores (Carlson) Stroshane.  He was the youngest of four children born to this family.  At the age of one, he moved with his family to Pine City where his father had secured a position as a teacher in the Pine City High School.  Mark began his studies in the Pine City school system graduating from the Pine City High School in 1974.  A year later he enrolled in Anoka Technical School for studies to become a chef.  He finished this course and became a chef in several restaurants in the twin cities as well as in the Pine City area.  Ill health forced him into early retirement at age 35.  He continued to live in Pine City until 1997 when he moved to Mora to be closer to medical facilities.  It was here he lived until his death on Friday evening at his home in Mora.  He was 53 years old. In his early years Mark enjoyed the out door activities of hunting and fishing and in the later years especially of fishing with his Dad after his retirement.  He also enjoyed the companionship of his dog “Chiquita” for many years. Mark will be especially missed by his mother Dolores of Mora, his sisters Dianne and her husband Ken Bailey of Blaine and Karen Stroshane of Albuqurque, New Mexico, and brother Gary Stroshane and his wife Linda.  He is also survived by several aunts, an uncle, cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth and his grandparents. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th at Swanson Funeral Chapel with visitation 1 hour before the service on Tuesday.  Interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City.  Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
