Lorraine M. Dvorak

            Lorraine Margaret Dvorak, the daughter of Peter and Irene (Gabers) Fischbach, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 21, 1922.  She grew up and went to school there,  attending elementary school at Sacred Heart and later graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul.             On September 28, 1940, she married Robert Dvorak at Blessed Sacrament Church.              Lorraine was employed at a variety of jobs, starting at the Hormel plant.  She also worked for a time at 3M, she was in sales at the Emporium, was a switchboard operator and did billing for AAA, and tested milk products for Dairy Quality Control.              Lorraine’s hobbies were many.  She took up knitting after she retired and won many ribbons at the Pine County Fair.  She also won many ribbons for her bonsai plant.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and going to the casinos.  She loved fishing so much she would stay out on the lake all day long.  She was an auxiliary member at the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pine City.  Her pet and constant companion was her white miniature poodle named Candy.             Lorraine died at the Lakeside Nursing Home in Pine City on June 12, 2010, and had reached the age of 88 years.  She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Steven) Fellman of Wyoming, MN and Patricia (Bob Kropp) Holm of Princeton, MN; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters:  Beatrice Bunnell of Reno, NV and Delores Palowski of Fargo, ND.  She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1995, Robert Dvorak, her parents Peter and Irene Fischbach, sister Marcelle Crawley, and brother Leonard Fischbach.            The Reverend David Forsman will preside at the Memorial Mass for Lorraine at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010. Paul and Teena Bacigalupi will provide the music for the service.  Urn bearers will be Bob Holm and Steve Fellman, Jr.  A private inurnment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.   In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
