Gladys Marion Peterson

Gladys Marion Peterson, the daughter of William and Adelaide (Gehl) Peterson, was born January 17, 1923 at Rush City, Minnesota. She died on August 29, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 87 years. Gladys graduated from Edison High School in 1940, and later that year she married Raymond Johnson. In 1948 she married Everett Yarwood. Gladys worked at various jobs over the years, however, her longest and probably most enjoyable employment was as a sales representative for Avon. She loved art and enjoyed doing crafts, dancing, going to movies, and all types of music. Gladys is survived by her children: Gayle Perkins of Princeton, MN, Diane (Howard) Clark of Ogilvie, MN, Paul (Carol Jo) of Blaine, MN, and Nancy (Keith) Rosendahl of Decorah, IA; grandchildren: Penny, John Ronnalee, Annette, Bonnie, Tony, Scott, Gwen, Rececca, and Matthew; many great grandchildren and geat great grandchildren: sisters: Carole Bachen of Santa Clara, CA, Loretta (Carlton) Whiting of San Diego, CA, and Jane (Ed) Lundby of Lebec, CA; brothers: Donald (Joanne) Peterson of Edina, MN and Jerry (Evelyn) Peterson of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Adelaide Peterson, and her sister Laverne Roseth. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. on September 9, 2010 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with visitaion one hour prior to service. The interment will be in the William Taylor Cemetery southeast of Rush City. Luncheon will follow the interment at the First Lutheran Church in Rush City.
