A “Celebration of Life” for Angeline “Angie” F. Johnson will be held Noon-3:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Rock Creek Town Hall in Rock Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to a charity of the donor’s choice in Angie’s memory.
Angeline “Angie” F. Johnson, 95, passed away surrounded by family members on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City, Minnesota.
Angeline was born February 12, 1924, to Joseph and Katherine (Frank) France in Royalton Township, Pine County, Minnesota. She attended District 7 country school through the seventh grade and graduated from Pine City High School. After graduation, she worked in Minneapolis and during WWII moved to San Diego, California, to work at Consolidated Aircraft on the production of the B-24 Liberator bomber.
On October 24, 1946, Angeline married John Walfred (Wally) Johnson. In 1948, they purchased a farm and made their home in the Rock Creek area where all five of their children were born. Angie was a homemaker and worked outside the home at the Pine City Awning Company and later at Plastech Research, Inc. in Rush City.
Angie was a member of the Rush City VFW Auxiliary, Rush City Eastern Star, Pine City American Legion Auxiliary, the Rock Creek Homemakers, and the Pine City Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends on the East and West Coasts as well as Sweden. She had a passion for feeding the birds and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Angie loved playing cards and going fishing with her grandchildren. She made many patchwork quilts and plastic mesh items to share with others.
Angeline is survived by her children Wayne (Donna) Johnson of Pine City, Judy Johnson of Owatonna, Lois (Raoul) Nacinovich of Rivervale, New Jersey, Lori (Phil) Peterson of Anoka; daughter-in-law Carol Johnson of Rock Creek; brother Marvin (Ina) France; brother-in-law Arnold (Donna) Johnson; grandchildren Todd (Dawn) Johnson, Jennifer (Bruce) Kubesh, Kelli (Wayne) Milner, Jason (Annie) Johnson, Christopher Nacinovich, Danielle Nacinovich, Joshua Peterson, Jessica Peterson; great-grandchildren Dusty (Colleen) Emslander, Brian and Allison Kubesh, Janae, Elaina and Shayla Johnson, Joe, Matt and Luke Milner, Laura and Eric Abbott; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Katherine France; husband John Walfred Johnson; son Dale Johnson; brothers William (Mabel) France, Emil (Lavern) France, George (Lillian) France, Edward (Rosalie) France, Art (Joyce) France; sister Lillian (Elton) Johnson.
A celebration of Angie's life is planned for Saturday (11/16/19); 12 noon to 3:00 PM. at the Rock Creek City. The interment will take place in the Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City.
Memorials in Angie's memory may be donated to your favorite charity.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City ~ Swanson Chapel
