Bernadette Kay Patin

March 23, 1948 — February 9, 2022

Bernadette “Bernie” K Patin (Soderstrom, Casey) of Pine City made her journey to a cancer free life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Bernie was born March 23, 1948 and was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2012 she moved to Hastings to be closer to her daughter. Making her last home in Pine City.

Bernie always had a smile on her face. She loved life and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed meeting new people who had the same artistic talents as she did.

Bernie had many talents: drawing, painting, beading and sewing. However her love for sewing was very apparent when she opened her sewing business “Berniewear” in Hastings.

She had an amazing artistic vision of what she was going to create. One of a kind purses and leather items were her specialty.

In 2008, Bernie was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. She was in remission until 2018 when breast cancer returned with the diagnosis of Stage 4, prognosis was poor. She was given a time frame of months-but the warrior that Bernie was, fought hard the last 3 1/2 years. Through all the chemotherapy and radiation, she continued to have a positive attitude. Always saying “To see another day to talk to my daughter is a beautiful day.”

Bernie had a beautiful send off party, leaving her journey peacefully with her daughter by her side, whispering “I love you and I’ll see you when you get here”.

Bernie is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Steve); granddaughter Josclyn; loving companion Ms. Harley; and many close friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Laura; brother David; grandmother Ollie; and faithful companion Razor.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to: Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City, Swanson Chapel
