Betty Mae Diedrich of Braham flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels on February 7, 2018 at the age of 82.
Betty Mae (Fick) Diedrich was born on February 13, 1935 in Pine River, Minnesota. She was the third of six children born to Emery and Molly (Wolford) Fick.
Betty loved to rollerskate. She went to several different rinks and met Robert Diedrich at Moulton’s Roller Rink in Rush City, Minnesota. On September 15, 1955 Robert and Betty were married. They lived in South St. Paul where Betty worked at Armour's for many years. The family expanded with Daniel in 1957, Amy in 1963 and Rob is 1966. In 1969, Bob and Betty moved to West Rush Lake where they opened Diedrich's Live Bait. Everyone helped out with the business. Bob and Betty ran the business until 2012. In 2017, they moved to Rush City.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a hard worker who would do anything for anyone. She was an amazing cook, her German potato salad and Gropha's were every ones favorites. Betty enjoyed reading, playing cards (Rummy 500), watching old television movies, and seeing her grandchildren grow.
Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years Robert Diedrich of Rush City; daughter Amy (Michael) Ramstad of Rock Creek; son Rob (Laura) Diedrich of Rush City; grandchildren: Korey Siltman, Devin and Hunter Diedrich, Ariel and Allen Ramstad, Brock, Kayla and Lukas Diedrich; brother Donald Fick of Carver; nieces; nephews and other friends and relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents Emery and Molly Fick; son Daniel Diedrich; sisters Mary and Donna; brothers Kenneth and Lynn.
A gathering of family and friends is planned for Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
