Beverly "Bev" Jean Hurley

May 9, 1940 — April 6, 2017

Beverly Jean (Sobon) Hurley 76, of Rush City, joined her lifelong love Dale, in heaven on April 6th, 2017, passing away peacefully surrounded by her children. Bev was the first-born child to Frank and Marjorie (Foss) Sobon, in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 9, 1940.  She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1958 and met Dale that summer at the Twin Lake Beach.  They were married in Robbinsdale, on December 6, 1958, and began their beautiful family beginning with Rick and adding Shelly, Mike, and Brenda.  After outgrowing their first home in Blaine, they migrated north near the Sobon family cabin on Rush Lake.  Bev and Dale discovered the farm they would make their forever home for nearly 50 years, in Rush City. Bev loved to celebrate the holidays in her home filled with loved ones.  Throughout the years, they created so many wonderful memories.  They enjoyed their camping trips each year and visiting Duluth.  Bev worked in the school cafeteria and Bev’s Greenhouse briefly, but spent many years as the manager of Kinger’s bakery.  Bev, in her later years, enjoyed all her shopping trips with family and friends, serving at the church alongside the church basement ladies, quilting, and gardening.  Bev especially enjoyed her coffee mornings with friends. Bev is survived by children, Rick Hurley (Helene Lindner) of Rush City, Shelly Cooper of Cambridge, Mike (Tom Reshetar) Hurley of Minneapolis, Brenda (Noel) Nessel of Rush City; grandchildren Alana Cooper (Jason Person), Abby Cooper (Matt Anderson), Jesse Nessel (Jen Wenner), Brian (Tabitha) Nessel and George Stenger; great-granddaughters Olivia Reed and Zoey Cooper; mother Marjorie Sobon of Cambridge; siblings, Jim Sobon of East Bethel, Carol (Mike) Nelson of Stanchfield and Gary (Julie) Sobon of Otsego; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joan (Dan) Rudolph and George Hurley; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Hurley; father Frank Sobon; father-in-law and mother-in-law George (Alice) Hurley; grandson Jeremy Hurley; niece Kim Sobon; sister-in-law Pam Hurley. Father Thomas Fitzgerald will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Bev: 10:30 AM; Tuesday, April 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City.  A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for Monday, April 17 from 5-8 PM at the Olson Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the Mass at the church.  The interment will take place in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Rush Point.
