Funeral Service for Carole Margaret Anderson, 89, of Pine City, will be 11:00 am Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City with Rev. John Stiles and Rev. Dr. Vicki VanderVegt officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7pm at Swanson Funeral Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Birchwood Cemetery.

Carole died Sunday, June 28, 2026 at her home in Pine City under hospice care.
She was born June 18, 1937 in Chisago County, Minnesota to Kenneth and Blanche (Rogers) Carlson. Carole was a 1955 graduate of Pine City High School and later attended psychiatric nursing school for a short time. She married William Yost and to that marriage Rhonda, Mike and Steven were born.
Carole worked at the Coke Plant in Pine City, secretarial at the Pine City Elementary School, FHA and Hopkins Gas Company. She worked as a secretary for the Federal Prison System for 20 years, serving 18 of those as the Warden’s Secretary. During that time she received several Secretary of the Month awards and one Secretary of the Year award. Following retirement, she worked as secretary for the Pine City Chamber of Commerce for several years.
Carole enjoyed collecting over 100 Barbie Dolls, especially the Christmas Editions. She was known to many as the “Hat Lady” and was a former member of the Red Hats. She was an avid reader and she and Carl enjoyed birdwatching. Other hobbies include: playing piano, knitting slippers and making trays of Christmas treats for friends, family and co-workers. Carole was a devoted member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, WELCA and its choir.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; children: Rhonda Yost of Rush City, Steven (Mona) Yost of Zimmerman, Deidre (Mike) Moulton of Lake Havasu, AZ and Doug (Teresa) Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers: Francis Carlson of Iowa, Jerry (Barbara) Carlson of Pine City and James Carlson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Blanche and a son, Mike Yost.
