Dean Francis Madison was born August 3, 1935 to Ever and Florence (Mills) Madison on a farm in the Milburn community east of Pine City. He graduated from Pine City High School in 1953 and went on to Trinity Bible College in Chicago where he met his future wife, Delores Granberg of Stromsburg, Nebraska.
He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1956 and served until 1958, stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He and Delores were married in 1958 and had 49 wonderful years together before her passing. He then enrolled at Bethel University where he completed a four-year degree in Elementary Education. Dean taught elementary education from 1970 until his retirement in 1996. He taught 5th grade at Sandstone and was always generous with what God had blessed him with. Dean loved to garden, fish, and spend time with family and friends.
Dean attended Milburn Evangelical Free Church while growing up, and it was there that he came to believe in Jesus and was baptized. His relationship with God was the most important thing to him. At the time of his death he was a member of Journey North Church in Pine City.
After the death of his wife Delores, he and widow Margaret Marty, started a grief support group. Eventually this led to the second marriage for both of them in 2009. They enjoyed 15 years together.
