Dennis Emery Errington

Dennis Errington, age 78, of Rush City, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised on a dairy, corn, and hog farm on the Cannon River in Randolph, MN, Dennis lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, and deep pride in the people he loved. He was a godly man whose faith guided his steps, shaped his character, and remained a steady foundation throughout his life.

A proud veteran, Dennis served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969. Much of his service was spent aboard the USS Tutuila off the coast of South Vietnam supporting Operation Market Time during the Vietnam War. His military service remained one of the accomplishments he held closest to his heart.

Dennis married the love of his life, Julianne on January 10, 1970 and established their family. Family was the core of his world and he was proud of our strength, support, and love for one another.

Dennis was a farmer first. Hog and corn farming shaped his character — patient, steady, humble, and grateful. It was the life he loved most.

Dennis also spent 20 years driving over‑the‑road truck, a job he took on with the same dedication and reliability he brought to every part of his life. But no matter how many miles he traveled, his heart was always back home — with his family, his faith, and the land he cherished.

For almost forty years, Rush City was home. It was where he built his life, raised his family, and created the memories that will continue to live on through those who loved him. His faith was woven into the everyday moments of his life — quiet prayers, simple kindnesses, and a steadfast belief in God’s goodness. Dennis lived his faith not through grand gestures, but through the way he treated people, the way he worked, and the way he loved.

Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his dry humor, his deep loyalty, and the way he lit up whenever his grandchildren were near. His legacy is carried forward in the family he built, the values he lived by, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Those who knew him take comfort in knowing he has gone home to the Lord he followed faithfully.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julianne (Johnson) Errington, who was his steadfast partner through every season of life. Together they raised a family that became his greatest joy: Joey (Alison) Errington, Scott (Marnie) Errington, Tracy (Ashley) Huhn, Kelly (Tom) Filzen, and Sara (Greg) Imrick. Dennis was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply: Brooke (Taylor) Tietze, Billy Errington, Jacob Huhn, Aimee Errington, Cora Huhn, Becky Errington, Andrew Filzen, Jenna Errington, Nate Filzen, Lexi Errington, Bradley Filzen, Lilli Imrick, Leah Filzen, Gabe Imrick, Izzy Imrick, and Lucas Imrick. He is also survived by his siblings: Dale (Terry) Morrill, Delmar Errington, Diane Tatum, Douglas Errington, Darlene Imperial, Donna Errington and Robin (Ronny) Bakken.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father William F. Errington, his mother Mary (Brock) Errington, and his step‑mother Fran (Dobrantz) Errington; brothers-in-law Joe Imperial, Dick Johnson; sisters-in-law Pat Errington, Bev (Jerry) Konobeck; uncle David Errington.

Pastor Joel Preston will officiate funeral services for Dennis: 11 AM; Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the Pine City Evangelical Free Church. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 5-7 PM; Monday (7/27) at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City and also one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis on Wednesday (7/29) at 1 PM.
