Dwight Arthur Lightfoot

Dwight Lightfoot passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at White Pines Senior Living in Blaine at the age of 79.

Dwight Arthur Lightfoot was born November 27, 1946 to Arthur and Lorraine (Sonnenberg) Lightfoot in Minneapolis. Dwight met Carol Steinmetz and they were married in 1967.

In 1976, Dwight and Carol moved their small family to Pine City. Dwight enjoyed living and working on the family farm. The family grew to six children. He always enjoyed his annual camping and fishing trip up north; as well as deer hunting every November. Later he was employed with the Pine County Highway Department. After retirement he enjoyed tinkering around in the garage and on the farm.

Dwight was the most thoughtful and loving husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. A constant through his life was his family; they always came first. Dwight loved family gatherings, the casino and attending the flea market.

Dwight is survived by his children Brenda (Peter) Belland of Braham, David Lightfoot of Ridgeland, Wisconsin, Bonnie Lightfoot (Scotty Steele) of Grasston, Angie (Randy) Allee of Forest Lake, Amy (Kirk) Lindahl of Pine City, Crystal (Rodney) Jean of Blaine; grandchildren Tim, Jennifer, JohnClair, Makala, Lindsay, Calvin, Gabbie, Nadine, Elliott, Maxwell and Miles; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Schamens of Rosemount; sister-in-law Nancy Hrdlicka of Lakeville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lorraine Lightfoot; loving wife and best friend Carol Lightfoot; brother James Lightfoot; father and mother-in-law Silverius and Lucille Steinmetz.

A private family funeral is being held for Dwight at the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City. Interment will take place in Hilltop Cemetery of Pine City.
