Eileen died suddenly on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Cambridge Medical Center in Cambridge, Minnesota.

She was born April 4, 1930 in her home on East Cross Lake near Pine City. Eileen attended District 69 Country School which is now the Rural School Museum in Pine City. She was a 1948 graduate of Pine City High School. Following high school, she moved to Minneapolis and worked there prior to her marriage to Roland “Rex” Auers. When Rex’s family farm came up for sale in Pine City, they purchased it and lived there for 40 years.

She held many jobs throughout her life including cleaning jobs, the Frances Ann Shop, Doran’s Jack and Jill Grocery, and on the farm raising chickens and milking cows. In 1969 she got a job with 3M and worked days and nights. She eventually retired from 3M after 20 years and enjoyed 36 years of retirement. Eileen was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and an active member of the Council of Catholic Women serving at their various activities.

Eileen enjoyed making quilts, collecting Foley forks and utensils, traveling to Alaska, Puerto Rico, Nova Scotia and many US States. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching game shows and was proud of each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In May 2024 Eileen became a great great grandmother with the birth of Eli and again in April 2026 with the birth of Coltyn. She was very proud to have two 5 generations in her family.

She enjoyed family get togethers and watching the antics of all the little ones. She attributed her longevity to eating oatmeal every morning. She faced many challenges throughout her long life – facing each one with faith and courage. Her motto was “This too shall pass.”

Her presence will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her!

Survivors include her children: Kathryn “Kathy” Wimmer of Pine City, Lawrence “Larry” Auers of Grasston and Lee (Audeen) Auers of Hinckley; 13 grandchildren; Eight Step Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; Nine Step Great Grandchildren; Two Great- Great Grandsons; sister, Evangeline Auers of Grasston; several nieces and nephews.
