Gail Susan Mattison

Gail Mattison of Pine City passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at United Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 80.

Gail Susanne Ness was born September 16, 1945 to Willie and Pearl (Hagen) Ness in St. Paul, Minnesota. 

Gail is survived by her children Carmen Mattison, David (Barbara) Mattison all of Pine City; grandchildren Tabi (Jeremiah) Pickett, Brandon (Kaitlyn) Mattison, Carter Mattison all of Pine City; great-grandchildren Valerie Pickett, Cesilie Pickett, Christina Mattison; brother-in-law John Cashin, Sr. of Woodbury; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Pearl Ness; siblings Jack (Karen) Ness, Wilma Cashin; and nephews John Cashin, Jr. and Danny Cashin.

Reverend John Stiles will officiate funeral services for Gail: 11 AM; Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday (4/10) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City, and in addition one hour prior to the service at the church.
