Gala Marie Larson

Gala Larson of Chisago City passed away Saturday (1/12/19) at the Margaret Parmly residence in Chisago City at the age of 79.

March 20^th 1939, Gala was born in Burwell, Nebraska to parents Edd and Crystal Hahn.  After her birth, her family moved to California to work in the national defense plants.  She completed cosmetology school at the age of 19 and worked as a stylist.  At age 20, Gala met and married Raynard Larson who was in the U.S. Navy.  After his discharge from the Navy, Gala and Ray moved to Minnesota; Ray’s home state.

Gala had two children; Cindy and Mike who she loved dearly.  She worked hard at creating a “home” for them even though Ray was transferred around the country with his job at Northern Natural Gas Company.  When Ray retired in 1993, they spent much time traveling in their 5^th wheeler; spending winters in Arizona.  Gala loved Ray dearly and at the time of her passing, had been married 59 years. 

A special “thank you” to all the staff at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City for their love, support and care of Gala.

Gala is survived by her husband Raynard Larson of Chisago City; daughter Cindy Larson and Butch Cowden of Prior Lake; son Michael (Shawn) Larson of Clear Lake, Iowa; her 2 grandsons Drew and Ben; brother-in-law Ronnie (Linda) Larson of Harris; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edd and Crystal Hahn; 2 infant siblings.

Funeral services for Gala are scheduled for 11 AM; Saturday (1/19/19) with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
