Gerald Robert Bjork

Funeral Service for Gerald Robert Bjork, 85, of rural Harris, will be 12:00pm (noon) Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Sunrise Bible Church (41300 2nd St.) in North Branch with Pastor David Stertz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will follow the service in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.

Gerald passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by family on hospice care.

He was born March 19, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Clarence and Hazel (Lindo) Bjork. Gerald was a graduate of North Branch High School. Jerry spent the majority of his life in the Chisago County, Sunrise Township area. His resume includes working at the Almelund Feed Mill, the Almelund Creamery, which he would take one of the four children with and buy them ice cream.

In 1976 he began working for the Chisago County Highway Department; starting on the end of a shovel and ending as Assistant Maintenance Supervisor. He retired from there with 30 years of service.

Over the years he was a member of the Sunrise Planning Commission, Sunrise Town Board and part time loader operator for Sunrise Road Maintenance. In his younger years he served in the Sunrise Bible Church as Sunday School Director and as Deacon. Jerry had the gift of gab and loved talking to people – one of his favorite gifts. Most of all he loved his family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; children: Jarrett (Amy) Bjork of Hastings and their children, Frankie, Sophie, Chloe, Wyatt Bjork, Tyler and Amelia Miller, Jason (Lori) Bjork of Wyoming and their children, Jake (Michelle), Marly (Connor),and Rachel (George), Jayme (Joey) Reichkitzer of Harris and their children, Joe, Jesse (Bella), Jeanna Cochran (Ed) of Stanchfield and her children, Jace, Lyla and Mason; great grandchildren: Karley, Syd, Leia, Lois, Ella and Will; siblings: Delores Medin, Michael Bjork and Rozelia Valez; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hazel; step-father, Kenny Lehman; sister, Mabel; grandsons, Jonah Bjork and Cameron Johnson; son-in-law, Matt Cochran.
