Greg died Friday, May 8, 2026 surrounded by family at his cabin on Pokegama Lake.
He was born August 8, 1951 in Thief River Falls, MN, the eldest of 12 children to Theodore and Mary (LaVoie) Jaeger. Greg was a graduate of Plummer High School and later attended Vo-Tech at Thief River Falls. He worked at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls and later married Colleen Sullivan on August 19, 1978 in Red Lake Falls, MN. He was currently employed there with over 43 years of service.
In his spare time he did Hook Worx – which used hooks from his occupation to weld into things from fences to art work. He especially enjoyed spending time at Pokegama Shores where he would often give “three hour” sightseeing tours of the lake and river. There, he was affectionately known as The Captain.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen; daughter, Angie; siblings: Linda, Kathi, Jeff (Phuong), Janet (Richard), Cindy, Mary (Randy), Paul, Helen (Steve), Sheila (Mark) and Anthony; sisters/brothers-in-law Susan, Jerie (Rick), Kathy, Diane (Rod), Jack (Deb), Bob, and Jay; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mary; brother, Joseph; mother/father-in-law Jerome Sullivan and Emalyn Prenevost; brother-in-laws, Gary, Matthew, and Gerard.
