Ilene Aloha Mae Wimmer, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Sandstone Health Care Center resting next to her loving husband Raymond.
Ilene was born December 30, 1931 in Pine City, Minnesota to Edward and Albina (Karas) Vacinek. Her father passed from illness when she was very young and she was primarily cared for by her mother Albina and her aunt Josephine "Josie" Karas.
Ilene married the love of her life Raymond Wimmer on November 10, 1951. They were best friends and lifelong companions. They were blessed with four children: Anthony, Greg, Dan and Sharon.
Ilene was known for her caring nature and her love for all living things. When the kids were young and they used to raise pigs, she would bottle feed the piglets. She always knew what the favorite snack was for all the birds and she enjoyed watching them. She was an amazing cook and she baked the most delicious kolaches. Above all else, there is nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She blessed us all with years of smiles, laughs, and her sense of joy.
Ilene is survived by her husband Raymond Wimmer; children Greg Wimmer, Sharon (Steve) Langstrom; six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Garland Vacinek and sister-in-law Marlene.
She was preceded in death by her sons Dan Wimmer and Anthony Wimmer; brother Lamonte Vacinek.
