Jim Lapinski of Rush City passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at his home at the age of 71.
James Lee Lapinski was born September 5, 1954 to Joseph and Rosalie (Scott) Lapinski in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jim attended North Branch Schools and later obtained his GED. In his early years, Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends fishing, hunting and riding motorcycle. For many years he worked at the sod fields and later started his own business building pole sheds and finally ended up retiring from Anderson Windows.
Jim spent a lot of time raising his three boys: Jesse, Shaun, and Andy. He showed them the great outdoors by taking them on many camping, fishing and hunting trips; teaching many great lessons that will not be forgotten. He also had a great talent in woodworking; creating many beautiful tables made with agates and his love for wildlife.
Jim is survived by his sons Jesse (Stephanie) Lapinski of St. Croix Falls, WI., Shaun (Michelle) Lapinski of North Branch, Andy Lapinski of Rush City; 12 grandchildren; sisters Sue (Rich) Gieser of Cosmos, Cathy Leavitt of Wisconsin, Sandy Lapinski of Excelsior, Colleen Lapinski of Stark; brother-in-law David "Smoky" Balfanz of Sunrise.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rosalie Lapinski; sister Patty Balfanz.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 5-8 PM at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
