Funeral service for Jamie Alan Johnson, 52, of Rush City, will be 1:00pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with Pastor Darren Sedler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Jamie died Monday, May 4, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. He was born October 27, 1973 in Fort Polk South, Louisiana to James and Donna (Moran) Johnson.
Jamie was a 1992 graduate of Rush City High School and later married Julie “Jewel” Davis-Nelson. To that marriage, Amelia and Ava were born. Jamie worked as a volunteer Firefighter in Rush City and for several years worked as a welder in Cambridge. On August 15, 2015 he married Tamara Rushmeyer in Rush City. To this union Tammy brought two more children, Jacob and Kaylee.
Jamie most recently was an over the road truck driver, working for Artur and most recently with Kibo Express. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed splitting wood. Gardening was his passion of his and enjoyed canning the vegetables in the fall.
One wish Jamie had on his bucket list was to do more traveling and vacationing; especially to Alaska.
Survivors include his wife, Tamara; daughters, Amelia and Ava; step-children, Jacob and Kaylee; mother, Donna Johnson; mother-in-law, Roxanne; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James; brother, Jeffery; father-in-law, Dennis; several aunts and uncles.
