Janice Marie Hischer

Janice M. Hischer passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Northern Pines in Pine City at the age of 82.

Janice Marie Hischer was born October 29, 1938 to Harry and Hazel (Carlson) Hischer in Hastings, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm in Pine City and graduated in 1956 from the Pine City High School. After graduation and throughout the years she worked at many different Pine City businesses, including; Pine City Launders & Cleaners, American Motors Car Dealership from 1960 through 1981, Washington Federal Savings & Loan, Red Shed Restaurant, Pine's Restaurant, Nessel's Mutual Insurance and Imations.

Janice loved traveling and shared many trips with her cousins, sisters, brother, and her mother; visiting many states and traveling both to Europe and Canada. She especially enjoyed family gatherings of picnics, birthday and holiday celebrations and attending special events for her nieces and nephews.

Janice is survived by her sister Joanne (Owen) Dahmer of Windsor, Colorado; brother John (Joan) Hischer of Harris; nieces Jacquelyn (Glenn) Gasmen and Jill Wilson; nephews Eric Vetse, Kurt (AnnaMaria) Vetse, Ross (Annette) Vetse, Jason (Tamara) Hischer, Andrew (Heather) Dahmer; many grand-nieces and grand-nephews; other relatives and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Hazel Hischer; sister Joyce (Mel) Vetse.

Reverend Glen Kleppe will officiate funeral services for Janice: 3:00 PM Saturday, September 18th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for one hour prior to the service at the church. The interment will take place in Birchwood Cemetery, Pine City.

The Hischer Family invites everyone to join them for a funeral luncheon in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
