Jeffrey Girgen, renowned worldwide as the world's greatest husband and most incredible guy ever, passed away from cardiac arrest Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the University of Minnesota Health Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 67.

Jeffrey Anthony Girgen was born July 11, 1957 to Phillip and Clarine (Ostertag) Girgen in Hastings, Minnesota.  He was the second child in a family of eight and grew up in Vermillion, Minnesota. He moved to Rock Creek after finishing high school in Hastings. Jeff joined the National Guard and then worked for twenty years at Plastech Corporation in Rush City.

During the summer of 1997, Jeff met his future wife, Linda Mohlin, and began a twenty-eight-year partnership. While living in St. Paul, Jeff worked for Cargill at Port Savage for twenty-three years. During this time, Jeff began his love affair with wood, filling the house with sawdust while he made furniture and then discovered wood turning, filling the house with beautiful pens and pepper mills. Spare time was spent fishing, mostly on Cass Lake up by Bemidji.

After retiring, Jeff helped his brother-in-law build Jeff's retirement home close to the St. Croix River. He (his brother-in-law) taught Jeff cabinet making and Jeff was in his element, crafting kitchen cabinets, fancy moldings and building a beautiful workshop where he spent many happy hours filling the house with more sawdust.

Jeff loved to travel, visit historic sites, camping, fishing and his time with the Rock Creek Lions.

Jeff is survived by his wife Linda Mohlin; brothers Joe (Sue), Jim, Jerry, John (Jean); sisters Joyce Townsend (Rusty), Janet Hince (Doug), Julie Girgen; step-children, Brent Ellingson (Elizabeth), Bryan Ellingson (Sanghee), Lorissa Ellingson Sawhney (Raj), Jessica Ellingson; grandchildren, Lakshmi and Narayan Sawhney, Emery, Mya, Ella and Ava Ellingson; many other relatives and friends; three unknown but hopefully much helped people who received organ transplants.

He was preceded in death by his parents Phillip & Clarine Girgen.

To celebrate Jeff's life, please donate an extra hour of your time to the Rock Creek Lions or the Pine City Lions, plant a tree, clean a ditch, or tell someone you love them.

There will be a private family service at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the:  Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City, Swanson Chapel
