Judy Marie Patzoldt, age 69, of Pine City, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at M Health – Fairview Southdale in Edina, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City, with Rev. Glen Kleppe officiating. Visitation will take place from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Beroun, Minnesota.
Judy was born on March 10, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Adolph and Bernice (Stenberg) Fedder. She was united in marriage to William Patzoldt on November 24, 1973, at Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Pine City High School in 1975 and later earned a degree in accounting from Pine Technical College in 1986.
Judy devoted her early years to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. Once all her children were in school, she began her career with Wayne K. Nelson, CPA, in Braham and later worked at First Insurance in Pine City. She went on to serve more than 20 years as the business manager for Braham Public Schools. Even in retirement, Judy generously shared her time and talents, continuing to work with both the Mora and Pine City school districts.
Judy faced a life-changing challenge when she required a kidney transplant. After family donor options were exhausted, her dear friend Colleen Daniels made the extraordinary gift of donating a kidney, on June 23, 1998, allowing Judy to return to a full and healthy life.
Judy was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated much of her life to her family and cherished attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many activities and events. She was fearless and lived life with enthusiasm and courage, enjoyed driving her Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping and traveling, competing in 5K races, and participating in softball, bowling, and horseshoes during her earlier years. Judy was a generous and memorable cook and loved baking. She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, and was an amazing quilter. In 2013, she and Will-E built their retirement home together east of Beroun.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William “Will-E”; their children, Gina (Mike) Ausmus of Pine City, William (Megan) Patzoldt of Gilroy, California, and Quent (Nikki) Patzoldt of Pine City; their grandchildren, Zach, George, Fred, Charlie, Clare, Louis, Kari, Paisleigh, and Bryer; her siblings, Jeff Fedder, Lori (Craig) Buck, and Brad Fedder; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Bernice Fedder, and an infant granddaughter, Meredith Ausmus.
