June Gaddes

June Gaddes passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025 at the age of 97. Her greatest wish was that she would be able to stay in her own home until she died. Thankfully we were able to fulfill that wish.

June Bowers was born June 16, 1928 in Beulah, ND to Charles and Mae (Mott) Bowers. June was one of seven children. When June was a teenager the family moved to a farm in Brook Park MN. June graduated from Pine City High School in 1946.

On August 2, 1950 June married the love of her life, Elmer Gaddes. The marriage was blessed with three children Deidre, Durand, and Darien. Elmer was a lineman for United Power Association so the family moved often to job sites in ND, SD, IA, WI, and MN. In 1963 June and Elmer built their home in Pine City. June was active in Immaculate Conception Church and St Mary’s school. Ordering and then delivering school uniforms was an interesting task. For many years she taught second grade catechism class, which was the first communion class so very important. June was also an AVON lady, which she really enjoyed. She made some long lasting friendships visiting with her customers.

When the children were older June decided to go to school to be a dental assistant. She graduated top of her class…of course! Once she puts her mind to something there is no stopping her. June worked first with Dr. Romano and then with Dr. Eck until retirement.

In 2014, after 64 years of marriage Elmer passed away. June was heartbroken, but with the help of family and friends she moved forward. June’s life revolved around her family. Family meant everything to her. June’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She had the biggest, brightest smile whenever they were together. In her quiet time June liked to read, do word puzzles and play games on her iPad.

June will be greatly missed but we will be comforted to know she is with God in Heaven and reunited with her beloved husband and many other loved ones that have gone before her.

June is survived by her children, daughter Deidre (Steve) Broberg, sons Durand (Jan) Gaddes, Darien (Barb) Gaddes; grandchildren Scott (Heidi) Broberg, Christine (Reggie) Frazier, Gena (Mike) Gaddes, Kamren (Brianna) Gaddes; great grandchildren Wyatt Frazier, Braxton Broberg, Emmett and Henry Gaddes; brothers Arnold Bowers, Boyd Bowers; in-laws Darlene (Dave) Rudolph, Russ (Eileen) Gaddes. Also surviving June are many loving nieces that she adored.

She is preceded in death by parents Charles and Mae Bowers; loving husband Elmer Gaddes; sister and brother-in-law Joyce (Jerry) Larson; brothers and sisters-in-law George (Opal) Bowers, Gene (Jeannie) Bowers, Bea Bowers, Patricia Bowers, Dennis Bowers.

Fr. Thomas Galarneault will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial for June; 11 AM Thursday (10/23/2025) at Immaculate Conception Church of Pine City. A time of visitation is planned, 2 hours prior to the Mass in the St. Anthony commons area.

Lunch in the church lower level will immediately follow services. Burial will be in the Brook Park Catholic Cemetery at 1:30PM Thursday.
