Kathleen Bankers passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge at the age of 92.
Kathleen Ann was born April 21, 1927 in Waterville, Minnesota. At the age of 15 Kathleen’s family moved to a farm in Royalton Township. In 1994, she married George Pitkin. One of her first jobs was at the Agnes Hotel in Pine City. She was employed as a cook at the Rush City Livestock Café and for staff and clients of Pine Shores Pine Manor in Pine City. Kathleen also owned and managed a bar in Henriette. Kathleen loved fishing of any kind and that included spear fishing. One of her very favorite things was raising her beloved Boston Terrier puppies. Kathleen enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Kathleen is survived by her sons Patrick (Beverly) Bankers of Grasston and Mark (Rose) Bankers of Baxter; grandchildren: Christine, Jamie, Jennifer, Jessie, Christopher, Jacob and Hannah; great-grandchildren Brylee and David; sister Mary Ann (Wesley) Gibson; lifelong friend Frannie Taylor of Mora; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents Mary & Jesse Tilbury; son Michael Bankers; husband George Pitkin; grandson Damon Ostrowski; brother Jimmy Nelson; sister Teresa Tilbury.
Deacon Gene Biever will officiate funeral services for Kathleen: 11 AM; Wednesday, July 17, 2019 with one hour of visitation prior to the service all at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. The interment will take place in the Henriette Cemetery.
