Leslie Shore passed away Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2021 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City at the age of 98. Leslie Warren Shore was born to Clyde E. Sr. and Francis M. (Brackett) Shore on July 17, 1923 in Minneapolis. Les was the youngest of four brothers and in 1940 he graduated from Central High School, Columbia Heights. PFC Leslie Warren Shore was in the United States Army and served in the 797th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion Medical Detachment Unit, testing and developing anti-aircraft weaponry. His company was a Medical Unit and PFC Shore was a trained Medic, stationed at Army Air Base, Muroc Army Airfield (Edwards Air Force Base) Mohave Desert, California. He also served as Prisoner of War guard at Camp Myles Standish, Taunton, Massachusetts with additional training at Fort Devens, Ayer, Massachusetts. Les was a musician. He played the guitar and had formed the band “The Friendly Trio”. Over many decades he and his trio entertained the mid-west area, having several venues and genres of music. Leslie met his first wife, Alice Adelaide Theroux in Taunton, Massachusetts; they were married February 3, 1947, before returning home and residing in Fridley, Minnesota. He married Thelma Shirley Roback in Minneapolis January 16, 1981. Les is survived by his children Lynn (Rudy) Peka, Rita (Austin Sr.) Larson, Karen (Wayne) Sandbakken, Warren Shore; grandchildren Andy, Austin Jr., Kristen, Warren, Michael, Joseph, Rose, Lukas, Alex, Jimmy, Madeleine Benjamin, Amanda; great-grandchildren Jade, Donovin, Mya, Allyson, Lukas, Carmela, Angel, Charli Jo; nephew Ray Shore; step-children Patti, Shirley, Tom and Beverly Roback; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Roback Shore; daughter Wendy Frances Shore; former wife Alice Theroux Shore; brothers Clyde J. Shore, Jr., Frank B. Shore, Hal E. Shore.
