Lorraine Francine Holcomb

Lorraine Holcomb passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 77.

Lorraine Francine Vondrasek was born July 21, 1947 alongside her beloved twin sister (wombmate) Laverne to Frank & Philothea Mae (Von Horn) Vondrasek in Pine City. She brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning.

Always the heart of her family, Lorraine was funny, strong, brave, and endlessly talented. She had warmth that made everyone feel at home and a sharp wit that could brighten any room. She had a gift for making life feel lighter, even in its heaviest moments. Her cooking was legendary, often serving as the centerpiece for family gatherings and heartfelt conversations. She had a special place in her heart for cats — always creating voices for them and sharing little jokes that made everyone smile.

She and Laverne shared a bond that remained unbreakable throughout her life. Lorraine will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her humor, her heart, and the way she made the ordinary feel extraordinary. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived and lovingly remembered by husband, Mike Holcomb; sons Jeff Kappel, Jason Kappel (Kim Lovejoy); grandchildren Nils, Amelia, Jordan, Rachel, Abbe, Chad, Casey, Kody; twin sister Laverne; sisters Tina, Irene, Lily, Jane; stepdaughters Patti Disney, Sandra Holcomb; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents Frank & Mae Vondrasek; grandson Skeeter Disney.

Pastor Bruce Thompson will officiate a memorial service for Lorraine: 4:00PM;  Wednesday, May 28, 2025 with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service, all at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. The family invites everyone to join them at the Pine City American Legion Post #51 after for lunch and more sharing of Lorraine's life. Interment will take place at a later time.
