Marilyn Ann Fessenden of Rush City passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia. She passed in her home surrounded by her family and beloved dog, Barney.
Born on February 11, 1951 in St. Paul to Robert Charles Carson and Ann Catherine (Danlake) Carson, Marilyn graduated from Ramsey High School in Roseville. She was a 45-year resident of Rush City. Marilyn loved driving a daily school bus route along with summer school and extra-curricular activities for over 30 years until she retired in 2011. She was also a volunteer E.M.T./ambulance driver for the Rush City Hospital. Marilyn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.
Marilyn loved spending time with her family whether it was work or play. She and Ron were avid fisherman and pheasant hunters. Over her lifetime Marilyn processed more deer, cut more wood, filleted more fish and cut more grass than most people can imagine; and she loved every moment of it.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her long-term companion Ronald Everett Peterson; parents Robert and Ann Carson; grandparents Charles and Inez Carson; and uncle Rodney Carson.
Marilyn is survived by her children Tom (Cami) Fessenden, Kimberly Fessenden, Tracy (Paul) Gullerud; siblings Bob Carson, Linda Jezusko; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
