Marilyn Rosty of Rush City passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake at the age of 86.
Marilyn Joyce Schauer was born September 18, 1931 to August and Letha (Brown) Schauer in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the youngest of 5 children and was raised in St. Paul.
In 1946, she met Carl Rosty and they were married in 1949. They lived in North St. Paul of 40 years where they raised their 6 children.
Marilyn is survived by her children Laura (Bill) Hall of Gilbert, Rebecca Maddas of Rosemount, Heide (John) Morley of Luck, WI., Riki Rosty of Colorado Springs, Dawn (Donald) Amundson of Scandia; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Beverly Schauer of Richfield, Carrie Mallinger of Rush City and Barbara Emott of New Richmond, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents August and Letha Schauer; husband Carl Rosty; son Gordon Rosty; grandsons Brian Morley and Zachary Lawrence; brothers August Schauer and Bruce Schauer; and sister Beverly (Hartley) Hult.
Reverend Tim Renstrom will officiate at funeral services for Marilyn; 11:00 AM Monday (2/12/18) at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rush City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for one hour prior to the service at the church. The interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Maplewood at 2 PM Monday.
