Maxine Marie Dailey

July 17, 1937 — April 27, 2025

Brooklyn Park

Maxine Marie Dailey passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Brooklyn Park Senior Living Facility at the age of 87.

Maxine’s parents LeRoy & Margaret Braasch owned and operated the Topic Ballroom, a Furniture store, a bowling alley and later the Montgomery Wards Store all in Pine City. Growing up Max and her sister Joanne "Jo" could be found helping at the bowling alley. Max’s parents owned a horse that Max especially loved; she took every chance she had to enjoy horseback riding.

Max was employed with Piper Jaffrey, she worked in the printing press department. Both Max and Jim joined the Piper Jaffrey bowling league, she was excellent at bowling. Max and Jim made their home in Pine City for many years, they made the move to the Senior Living Facility in Brooklyn Park about three years ago. Max and Jim were together for 50 years; during that time Max had been an important part in the lives of Jim’s family. Max and Jim loved to go on road trips, visiting casinos throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. For many years they spent the winter months with some of their neighbors in Arizona, Max most enjoyed sitting next to the pool relaxing. Max called everyone “kiddo”, people would laugh because they were in well into their 50’s and she would still call them kiddo. Max and Jim loved each other until the very end, she will be missed by many and will always be in our hearts.

She is survived by her life partner James Ditty and family; sister JoAnne Hettle (Mack McKinney) and family; other relatives and friends.

Max was preceded in death by father Carle Streightiff; mother Margaret Streightiff Braasch; stepfather LeRoy Braasch
