Naomi Christopherson

Naomi Christopherson passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at The Lodge in Pine City at the age of 88. She was born on September 3, 1937 to Lester and Mabel (VanHouten) Nelson in Millville, Minnesota.

On December 29, 1955 Naomi Nelson married Floyd Christopherson, and together they raised 6 children, she was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was known for her love of card games and her passion for bowling, traveling across the United States to compete in bowling tournaments. She loved traveling with her husband in their motorhome, making annual fishing trips to Canada for more than 50 years. She also enjoyed spending time at the casino, where she found fun, laughter and good times.

Naomi is survived by her children: Shelly (Ed) Sauter of Pine City, Mitchell (Kari) Christopherson of Big Lake, Natalie (Perry Skluzacek) Christopherson of Pine City, Gary Christopherson of Willow River, Virginia (Duane) Franklin of Harris, Kelly (Scott) Miller of Pine City; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister Cynthia Martin of Hinckley; sisters-in-law Linda Nelson of Sandstone, Marie Nelson of Forest Lake, Pat Nelson of Finlayson; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Naomi’s life will be held from 11am – 3pm; Saturday, August 8th at the Novak-Milliren VFW Post #4258 in Pine City. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
