Ralph Albert Wilcox, known to all as Pete, made his final journey home to the Lord surrounded by family at his home in Tennessee on October 4, 2026, following a long, hard fight with cancer.
Born to Donald and Alice (Farmer) Wilcox on May 31, 1956, Pete is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy of Tennessee; his children, Onica Leigh (Steve) Oldiges of Kentucky, Craig Joseph (Renee) Wilcox, and Dustin Ralph) (Allison) all of Tennessee; grandchildren Dylan Ralph Wilcox, William Thomas Oldiges, Anna Kate Wilcox, Elynn Alice Wilcox, Nikolaus Stephen Oldiges and Emmalee Reagan Wilcox; siblings Charlotte, Bert, and Charles Wilcox, all of Harris, Anne (Brad) Miklya of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, Janet (John) Swanson and Alice (Vince) Bennett, all of Sunrise, and Nancy (Tom) Rys of Rock Creek; nieces, nephews, cherished extended family, friends, dedicated caregivers, and his beloved canine trucking companion, Baxter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Alice Wilcox; mother-in-law Joan Duncan; brothers-in-law Tom Duncan and Rich Nielsen.
Pete’s love for the road kept him trucking for 50 years. In addition to the miles logged in the truck, he loved a good road trip in the motorhome, a motorcycle ride, a little beetle-ing, or often a combination of all three. Throughout his many adventures, he never met a stranger. Family, friends, and strangers alike, he became a cherished part of the stories of so many lives all over the USA he loved so dearly. We rejoice in knowing we will one day be reunited with Pete in heaven, but until then it’s 10-4 good buddy, over and out.
