Raymond Kropelnicki

Raymond Kropelnicki of Grasston died Sunday, March 8, 2026 at The Estates of Rush City in Rush City, Minnesota, at the age of 87.

He was born March 25, 1938 in Humboldt, Minnesota to Bazyl and Mary (Mikety) Kropelnicki. Ray attended country school and at an early age began roofing with his brothers. Later he worked at Multi Clean Products in the warehouse. There he met Margaret Johnson and they were married on September 5, 1970 in St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church in Minneapolis.

The family resided in Columbia Heights prior to moving to Stanchfield. Ray worked many years as a self employed custodian and owned and operated Nook and Cranny.

He enjoyed cooking, baking, making hooked rugs and visiting the casino. He also was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising chickens, turkeys and ducks.

Ray is survived by his wife, Margaret Kropelnicki of Grasston; sons Peter (Karen) Kropelnicki and Nathan Kropelnicki both of Grasston; brothers Earslow Kropelnicki of Puyallup, WA and Louis Kropelnicki of Coon Rapids; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bazyl and Mary Kropelnicki; a son, Raymond in infancy; five sisters and fourteen brothers.

Memorial Service for Raymond: 11:00 AM; Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City with Pastor Donald Samuelson officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service.
