Raynard Kenneth Larson

Raynard Larson of Prior Lake passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2020 at the age of 82.

Raynard Kenneth Larson was born August 9, 1937 to Adolph and Ethel (Norberg) Larson in Fish Lake Township in Chisago County Minnesota.

Ray was raised on the family farm. He joined the United States Navy in 1955 at the age of 18, where he served 4 years in the communications field. It was during this time that he met Gala Hahn and they married upon his
discharge in 1959.

They moved back to Minnesota and Ray worked a variety of jobs until being hired by Northern Natural Gas where he loved working and eventually became a district manager and retired after over 40 years.

After retirement, Ray and Gala traveled the country in their 5th wheel camper spending winters in Arizona and summers in Minnesota. They moved back to Minnesota full time after the births of their grandchildren.

Ray was truly a family man and enjoyed spending time camping and fishing. He adored his grandchildren and treasured spending time with them. Friends would describe him as a truly good guy that was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Raynard is survived by his daughter Cindy Larson (Butch Cowden) of Prior Lake; son Michael (Shawn) Larson of Clear Lake Iowa; grandchildren Drew and Ben; brother Ronnie (Linda) Larson of Harris; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Ethel Larson; wife Gala Larson; sister Marion; brothers Roy, Ralph, Raymond.

Funeral services for Raynard: 11 AM; Saturday (2/29/2020) with time of visitation one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.  The interment will take place with military honors in the Oak Grove Cemetery of Harris.
