Riley Alan Knapp

Riley Knapp of Brook Park passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 as the result of a tragic car accident at the age of 22.

Riley Alan Knapp was born August 13, 2003 in Fairmont, Minnesota. In 2021, he graduated from Pine City Alternative Learning Center. He was an amazing and beloved son to his mom and stepdad, and a wonderful brother to his sister Taylor.

He loved his 4-wheeler; you could see him driving around with friends and having fun on the gravel roads near his house. He loved his Impala too. He had it all blacked out from the windows to his lights. He loved his cats Abbi, Cheeto, and Fuzzy and her kitties, birds, Kermit and Casper, dogs, Brandi and Dot.

He especially loved spending time at the family cabin on Mille Lacs. It's where he could fish and spend time at a peaceful place and collect his thoughts. Unfortunately, Riley struggled with mental health issues. He fought those demons hard, and we did what we could to help him. Please, if you or someone you love struggles with mental health, talk to someone, get help and keep the communication open between parent and child. Riley is now at peace and no longer suffering.

Riley is survived by his mom Debra Lundquist, stepdad Paul Lundquist of Brook Park; dad Jason (Kim) Knapp of Sugar Land, Texas; sister Taylor (Brett) Swanson, Xavier Swanson all of Centuria, Wisconsin; stepsisters Cora (Stefan) Platikanov of Woodbury, Elsie Lundquist (Jacob Hetrick) of Madison, Wisconsin; grandparents Gary (Carol) Knapp of Harlingen, Texas; step-grandparents Carl (Laurie) Lundquist of Burnsville; many other relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Al and Phyllis Luing; uncle Scott Luing; beloved pets bird Kirby, cat Alli, dog Sage. They are now surrounding him with their loving arms.

Pastor John Stiles will officiate funeral services for Riley: 2 PM; Sunday (9/7) with a two-hour visitation for friends and family prior to the service all at Swanson Funeral Chapel.
