Sharon Marie Barn, nee Studt, was born at the Rush City Hospital on January 14, 1948 to William and Luella (nee Johnson) Studt Jr. She grew up on the family dairy farm near Greeley. Although an only child, she had many friends and family around to keep her occupied. Sharon attended Rush City Schools; playing the clarinet in the marching band and graduating in 1966. She then attended Minneapolis School of Business for 2 years receiving her degree in Medical Receptionist. Sharon met and married Darrell Barn in 1968. They took over the family farm and had 3 children while on the farm. They left the farm and moved to the Owatonna area where Sharon was employed at O.T.C.. While in Owatonna, they had a 4th child. Sharon was divorced in 1983 and moved back to Rush City to be near family. She became employed at Dennis Kirk Inc. in November of 1983 and continued to be employed there until her passing.
Sharon enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, crocheting, especially blankets and reading her romance novels. Sharon was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed lunches and dinners at the "Stuga".
Sharon passed away peacefully on June 16, 2022 at Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming surrounded by her family.
Sharon is survived by her children David and Wally Barn of Brook Park, Diane Smith and special friend Brian Henn of El Reno, OK, Denise and Seth Erickson of North Branch, Dan and Rene' Barn of Brook Park; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Luella Studt.
Reverend Tim Renstrom will officiate at funeral services for Sharon: 2:30 PM; Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. A gathering of family and friends is planned for one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel. The interment will take place in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Rush City.
