Theresa “Terri” Lynn Worthington passed away on December 28, 2025, in Pine City, Minnesota from health complications after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. Terri was 67 years young.
Terri was raised in Cadott, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Cadott High School in 1976. After high school, she ventured to Sacramento, California, to attend school for fashion merchandising. That adventure was lovingly set aside when she returned home to help care for her mother—an early example of the selflessness and devotion that defined her life. Terri eventually made her way back to sunny California, where she lived until returning to Wisconsin in August of 2019.
Terri worked for many years as a nanny, a role that perfectly suited her playful spirit, boundless patience, and genuine love for children. Though she never had children of her own, she formed deep and meaningful connections with those in her care. To them—and to so many others—she was a source of joy, comfort, and endless fun. Terri was the kind of aunt, cousin, and friend everyone wished for: vibrant, warm-hearted, and always ready to sprinkle confetti wherever she went. Terri also had a deep love for animals, offering the same kindness and gentleness to pets as she did to people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard “Frosty” Worthington and Jennifer (Hays) Worthington, as well as her beloved sister, Cynthia Geissler.
Terri is survived by her devoted caregiver and best buddy—her niece—Jamie Worthington; her sister, Rebecca Havely; her brother, James Worthington (Debbie); and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is also lovingly survived by three very special girls who brought her immense joy and whom she adored as a nanny for many years: Amelia, Isabel, and Eve King of California.
Terri will be remembered for her generous heart, her playful laughter, and the countless lives—both human and animal—that were brighter because she was part of them. Memorials in Terri’s name may be directed to the Humane Society of Burnett County in Webster, Wisconsin or to the Alzheimer’s Association to help further research to cure this devastating disease. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
