Fishing was a favorite pass time, especially crappie fishing from his dock and ice fishing for walleye on Mille Lacs. In his later years he enjoyed spending time cutting and splitting wood with close friends. Wally had a special love for dogs, he enjoyed labrador companionship his entire life.
